If you’ve been watching the shores of China for an emerging quad-core Android-powered flagship device known as the Huawei Ascend D, you won’t have to for much longer. The Ascend D Quad is slated for a late fall launch.
As confirmed by The Inquirer, the Chinese market will get first crack at the device this August, with a Western European debut to follow sometime after in October of this year.
The device was originally shown at Mobile World Congress this year and scheduled for a summer release at the time. The slight push back on the release date was reportedly due to some technical issues revolving around the company’s custom K3 Balong CPU, which put a temporary stopper in Huwawei’s ability to mass produce them.
By the time it does reach the shelves, there will be much more to choose from as the iPhone 5 and Windows Phone 8 are both set to launch before the end of the year, and Android’s newest version, Jelly Bean, will also be available on upcoming devices. Will you be making this smartphone your own?
