BB10, RIM Smartphones, BlackBerry 10

If you’ve been worried about losing your trusty hardware keyboard on your BlackBerry device, stop worrying. Research in Motion CEO Thorsten Heins revealed that the first QWERTY BlackBerry 10 phone will arrive in “close proximity” to its touchscreen-only counterpart.

There weren’t very many details on the device, though RIM’s CEO did leave some small clues. Heins stressed that the early batch would focus on the “premium” space, while BlackBerry 7 would hold down the entry and mid-range markets until they could be replaced by their BlackBerry 10-powered counterparts.

So take heart, BlackBerry enthusiasts. It seems RIM did indeed hear your concerns and has made the necessary adjustments. Here’s hoping the BlackBerry 10 release date comes sooner rather than later.
