Tru SIM, Truphone SIM Card, GSM International Roaming

Update: No sooner had we posted this article than Tru posted new “Blue SIM cards” on their Facebook page! We’ve added the picture below. Still no word on features yet, but Tru is expected to post this information within the coming months.

We have been getting anonymous reports about a brand new Tru SIM in the works. While we’ve known that Tru is indeed working on a new SIM and has been for quite some time, these new reports we’ve received shed some light on a few of the upcoming features. However, until we have confirmed all of the information with Tru, this information should be taken with a grain of salt.

Sources close to Tru have confirmed that the new SIM is under the microscope, but what we don’t know so far is everything the new SIM will accomplish. So far, our anonymous sources have hinted at a “flawless IMSI change” when connected to the Tru network, along with fixes for iPhone 4S issues some customers have been experiencing and Nokia connectivity issues experienced by some customers.

No word yet on whether or not this new SIM hardware will coincide with new roaming rates.

Aside from these reports and information we posted earlier, we have very little information about what the next iteration of the Tru SIM will accomplish, but we have tapped Tru to see if we can confirm any of these details or perhaps discover something new.

What do you hope to see in Tru SIM? Sound off in the comments!
