Google Drive, Cloud Storage, Web Storage

After delay after delay that pushed the service back again and again for years, Google has finally announced their Google Drive cloud storage service with accompanying Android and iOS applications and there are probably many who are wondering how they compare.

The good people at
Engadget were kind enough to provide a very useful side-by-side comparison chart, which we have embedded below. The chart showcases the new Google Drive service and how it stacks up against its competitors, namely Microsoft’s SkyDrive, Dropbox, and Apple’s iCloud.

For early adopters of Microsoft’s cloud solution, the free 25GB of space is unbeatable. However, it gets a bit more competitive for those who are new to the service when compared to Google Drive, Dropbox, and Apple iCloud. When it comes to cloud storage, it’s the compatibility that’s most important, and it’s here where Dropbox and SkyDrive really shine; those services have applications on most operating systems available today.
