There have been a great number of rumors and release dates surrounding the upcoming Apple iPhone 5, which we also refer to as the New iPhone (in the spirit of the recently released New iPad). In fact, there are more release date rumors for the highly-anticipated device than there are pixels in the new retina screens.
The latest addition to this long list of speculation is June 15, the last day of the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC). This information comes from the iPhone 5 News Blog and cites an “inside source” in Asia.
Apple’s traditional developers’ expo this year will run from June 11 through 15, and the rumor mill is already churning with rumors of the anticipated launch of the iPhone 5 during that time.
Apple fans will remember similar speculation surrounding the iPhone 4S before its release last October. Then dubbed the iPhone 5, the iPhone 4S disappointed a number of fans with a slight upgrade rather than an all new device. The iPhone 5 will hopefully remedy that disappointment this year.
The iPhone 5 could also make Apple the world’s first $1 trillion USD company.
From what has been rumored about the specs, the iPhone 5 looks to be a rather interesting and innovative device. I for one will flip in my chair if the iPhone 5 looks anything like some of the concept photos we’ve seen thus far, such as the one pictured above.
