Truphone VoIP, Android Voice Over IP, Voice Over Internet Protocol iPhone

Truphone has just released a new version of their VoIP app for both iOS and Android devices.

The Truphone VoIP App for Android brings a number of improvements, including Android 4.1 Jelly Bean support, a completely new UI, streamlined sign up process, visual voicemail, and other improvements (yes, including the ever-elusive Tru Contacts tab!). The app also removes the buggy instant messaging feature that plagued the old version.

The new app for iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad doesn’t add anything new, but it does fix a bug which prevented some users from logging in.

The Android version can be downloaded from Google Play and the iOS version can be downloaded from the Apple Appstore right now.

No word yet on whether or not the BlackBerry and Desktop versions will receive any updates, but we’ll keep our eyes open. Have you tried the new VoIP app yet?
